What’s the difference between an electric fireplace and a heat pump?
The difference between an electric fireplace and a heat pump is in both the appearance and the way that they provide warmth to your home. An electric fireplace is designed to be a stylish design feature in your room, including a hyper realistic flame fire and glass fire box that’s designed to look like a real fire. Electric fireplaces only provide heat for your home.
While, like an electric fire, a heat pump also uses electricity for energy, it works to heat or cool air and circulate it either within a room or across your home. For this reason heat pumps are usually located high on a wall or – in the case of ducted heat pumps – within the ceiling or below the floor from where they pump warm or cool air into a room via a series of vents or ducts. Heat pumps can be used to both heat your home when it’s cold outside, and cool your home when it’s warm outside.
What kind of heat pumps do you sell?
Snug sells Rinnai Heat Pumps. We offer Rinnai high wall heat pumps that can heat or cool a single room, or Rinnai Ducted Heat Pumps that can heat or cool your whole home via a single unit located above your ceiling or under your floor. Come into the Snug Home Heating and Cooling Centre at 917 Karamu Road North, Hastings, and our Snug experts will help you to find the right model of heat pump for your home.
